Me and the Pedestal
“Me and the Pedestal” was written some years ago, out at the farm, and originally recorded on 4-track cassette. (This version is on shiny digital 8-track.)
I was at a friend’s house and they had some sort of ornamental pedestal, and lo — sweet inspiration. The title came first and the rest of the song followed quite quickly.
Instrumentation includes the Alesis SR-16, Autoharp, and Anders playing bass. The vocals have been sent through a Ibanez “Super Chorus” guitar pedal.
Structure is simple: Verse - Verse - Chorus - Verse - Chorus - Chorus. We don’t need no stinkin’ bridges. Only three chords used: F, Bb, and C. Easy!
After you listen to the song, you have my permission to read the lyrics.

Well, I got here thru MetaFilter. First I read there that you seem to be of the opinion that cheese hamburgers and peanut butters are a great match. Then there was your username. I checked your profile, which led me to your site and that led me here.
I listened to your songs and I quite liked them. This is the one I like the most, I think you should post it to Metafilter Music, I’m sure people there will love it and you’ll get interesting feedback on it.
Anyways, I gotta dash now, but I didn’t want to leave without leaving you a comment saying the songs are really cool. Cheers.

I’m the guy who came here yesterday, downloaded the songs and left a few comments. I came back here today ’cause I was just listening to the song and reading the lyrics (I didn’t pay much attention to the lyrics the first time around) and now I like the song even more. Really cool lyrics, really cool song all around. Congrats.
